Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of our most frequently asked questions.  If your question is not covered here, call us on 08453 707571 or fill in the form on our contact page and we'll reply as quickly as possible.

You can also ask us questions on our Facebook page, read more about Bedlam on our paintball blog, or watch videos of paintballers in action on our YouTube channel.

How much do paintballs cost?

Paintballs can be purchased on the day at each of our venues.  For the best price, we offer discounts to groups that buy in advance by calling our Events Team: 08453 707571.  Unfortunately, players are not allowed to bring their own paintballs onto a Bedlam site, as we require our paintballs to be individually safety-tested before being used on site. See our blog post 'How Much Does Paintball Cost?' for more information.

What time does a day at Bedlam start?

Your day at Bedlam Paintball starts at 9:15am.  It is essential you arrive on time so that we can get you checked in and kitted out in time for your game.

Is lunch included in my day at Bedlam?

Lunch is not included in our packages. You can however pre-order your lunch on arrival, which consists of a hot pizza from Domino's (on selected Bedlam sites) for £7. For more information call our Events Team on 08453 707571

Does getting hit by a paintball hurt?

This is a very common question, so we wrote a blog post a while back to address it.  Read "Does Paintball Hurt?"  on our paintball blog to find out.  Feel free to add your own comments to the debate!

How does the day work?

Players are welcomed on site at 9:15am and split into teams.  Each group is assigned a Team Leader who distributes equipment, demonstrates how to use it correctly and conducts a full safety briefing.  The team leader will also talk you through the game scenario and offer tips on strategy.
Normally you play through 4 game scenarios before taking a quick breather for lunch and a team photo.  There is then time for 3 or 4 more scenarios in the afternoon. The day usually finishes at around 4pm, when the best team is given an award. Our marshals are always on hand throughout the day to ensure your safety and make sure everyone is having a good time.

How many are in each team?

The total number of players at the venue will be split into two teams, with a minimum of 6 people in each team.

What are pyrotechnics?

"Pyrotechnics" is the name given to the paintball extras which can be purchased to add drama to games. At present, every Bedlam site offers such pyrotechnics as smoke bombs and paintball grenades. You can find out more about the different types of pyrotechnics by reading 'The A-Z of Paintball Grenades' on our paintball blog.

What's the minimum age?

All players must be 12 years of age or older to play at Bedlam Paintball.  This is required for insurance purposes. Adults and those under 18 can play in the same teams and/or games.

What are the rules?

Bedlam’s fully-trained safety marshals will explain the rules to players on arrival. This includes equipment usage and safety, the difference between the Safety Zones and Game Zones, and the role they play as safety marshal. In addition to this, the marshals will explain the objectives and rules of each game scenario before it begins.

Can I add extras to my Bedlam package?

Yes!  Not only can you add extras like pyrotechnics and more paintballs, but you can also include lunch, too, if you like. Check out our ‘Packages’ page for more information.

How may paintballs will I need for the day?

There is no right answer to this as it depends on how trigger happy you are.  However, a typical player will shoot around 500 paintballs during the day. If you would prefer not to worry about how many paintballs you will need during the day you can purchase our popular package Absolute Bedlam.

How much money should I bring with me?

If your package does not already include lunch and spare paintballs, then it’s wise to bring enough money to cover  a few extras.  Bedlam venues accept all major credit/debit cards (except American Express).

What should I do if I can't get enough players for my group?

Don't worry, all you need to do is phone our office as soon as you can and let us know how many players will be attending. This will avoid any confusion on the day and will ensure your day runs smoothly from the outset.

Can I buy refreshments on-site?

Yes, there is a shop in the Safety Zone at each of our paintball sites selling tea, coffee, juice, snacks and hot lunches.

How many games will we play in a day?

Bedlam Paintball is an all-day event, and trust us, at the end of the day you won't want to leave!  Normally you play 4 scenarios in the morning, followed by a lunch break to refuel, then a further 3-4 scenarios in the afternoon.

When will my team photo be available?

All team photos and action photography are put up on the Bedlam Facebook page the following Monday, where you can tag photos, tell your friends about them or save the pics for your own use.

What should we should bring with us to play paintball?

Each player should wear loose, comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for a woodland environment (see our blog post 'What Should I Wear to Play Paintball' for more info). You should also remember to bring cash or credit/debit cards in order to purchase extra paintballs, pyrotechnics, lunch and any other refreshments you may require.

How can I pay for my paintballs and other items?

Bedlam's Head Office and all on-site shops accept cash and all major credit/debit cards (Switch/Maestro, Visa, Mastercard, etc.) except American Express.
